Itinerary

Drive up to the highest mountain pass in Slovenia, Vršič, (1611 m/5285ft) and enjoy some amazing views of the Julian Alps. No wonder why weekends in Slovenia are reserved for mountaineering, climbing, skiing and other recreational sports. The guide will explain the story about Russian soldiers who built an orthodox chappel here during the WW I.

Drive down to the Soča valley, known for its pristine water, water sports and active tourism and above all the Soča/Isonzo battlefield, place of the greatest battles in mountain area in the history of humankind.

Have some stops to take some selfies with Visit Kobarid WW I museum and discover what was the role of Hemingway, the nobel prize winner, in this war.

Discover an open air museum with the firing trenches, caverns and the artillery positions for machine guns with incredible views of the Julian Alps, the Soča valley and the Italian Veneto region.

Optional participation at white water rafting in the Soča valley.

Afterwards drive along the scenic road through Italy back to your accomodation.
